All six jumbo Covid centres in Mumbai will have a ready room — mom lounge — for mothers of children who check positive for Covid-19. The non-infected mothers will likely be allowed to go to their children after sporting private protecting gear (PPE) kits for their security.
The transfer comes after it was noticed through the second Covid wave that the an infection fee amongst children elevated by virtually 50% and these contaminated children had to keep in remoted wards, away from their households for their remedy. This typically impacts their psychological well being, inflicting nervousness and disappointment.
“We know that a mother’s touch is essential for children. When Covid-infected children undergo treatment in isolation wards, they become sad and scared. We have, therefore, created a space in our jumbo facility called mother lounge where these mothers can wait in an area with proper facilities like drinking water until their children get discharged,” mentioned Dr Pradeep Angre, dean of Mulund jumbo centre.
