Nabard said on Monday that it had approved Rs 206 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in Orissa. It said that it will expand financial assistance to the Orissa state government for the construction of 25 rural road projects. Designed to support the rural economy by improving people’s lives, these projects are implemented by the State Government’s Engineering Department. The National Agricultural and Rural Development Bank stated that these 203-kilometer projects will improve road connectivity for 2.048 million people in 17,723 villages. “This sanction is a priority set by the state government to develop rural infrastructure for drinking water supply, irrigation and connectivity,” it said. It added that, as a result, the cumulative sanctions under the RIDF (2021-22) reached the level of Rs 1,493 crore. Air Transport Administration
