Pakistan: Tension Persists In Nankana Sahib, Sikhs Are Not Allowed To Perform City Kirtan

In Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, a mob pelted stones at the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara, the holy site of Sikhs, and shouted slogans against the Sikhs. Due to this, Sikhs are not allowed to perform city kirtan even today. According to Pakistan’s media report, there is still tension in the area due to which the permission for city kirtan has not been granted.

Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee will send a delegation to Pakistan:

Govind Singh Longowal, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, said that we are sending a four-member delegation to Pakistan. He will meet the governor of the Pakistani state and take stock of the situation.

Why This Happen??

Please tell that on Friday, hundreds of people surrounded the gurdwara. The mob was led by the family of Mohammad Hasan, who is accused of forcibly converting Sikh girl Jagjit Kaur. A large number of police have been deployed after the incident, but the situation is tense. There is anger among the Sikh community over the incident.

According to the information, the Muslims who came with Mohammad Imran, brother of Mohammad Ehsan, married to Jagjit Kaur alias Ayesha, surrounded the Gurdwara Sahib. First, he performed outside the main entrance of the Gurdwara Sahib and performed. This was followed by stone-pelting at the main entrance of the gurdwara.

On closing the gate, stones were also thrown inside the Gurdwara Sahib. The protesters threatened to rename the city to Ghulam-e-Mustafa. No Sikh will live in Nankana. The performance lasted for about four hours. Due to this, shops around the gurdwara were closed.

After this period the corresponding fear protesters gurdwara also stayed there long enough. The police, who reached the spot after the incident, has arrested several stone-pelters. After this, Sangat left from there. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media.
