Sonnalli Seygall, who gained acclaim for her performance in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, will star alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nupur Sanon in the upcoming film Noorani Chehre. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sonnalli recalled a special memory from the sets with Nawaz.
According to Sonnalli, “Food and I have a long-standing friendship. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve had a lifelong obsession with food. Many people don’t believe me when I say I’m a foodie because I eat well and exercise. When I’m shooting, I don’t need fancy food; I just need good food that you’d eat at home.”
“So it happened that we were filming Noorani Chehre in a very remote part of Greater Noida, and food was frequently a problem. I tried ordering from my phone on the first day, but there was no network. And since it would take an hour or two for the production team to get the food, I figured I’d just have to carry it from the hotel. Nawaz was aware of this but remained silent “she went on.
“His staff brought me a full thali of home-cooked food the next day for lunch. He is always accompanied by a young boy who cooks for him using ingredients such as his mother’s desi ghee and other fresh ingredients. All of the food, including daal, bhaat, and paneer, was freshly prepared. His thoughtful gesture astounded me. “I understand proper khana khana chahiye,” he said. Kitna khaoge bahar ka aap? (It is necessary to eat properly.) How long will you be able to survive on takeout)?” That day, I remember eating far too much. My soul was always touched by him “she added, smiling broadly.
When asked to elaborate on her time working with Nawazuddin, she said, “It was wonderful to work on a film that was close to my heart, both in terms of story and script and as a team. It was a wonderful experience. I had a fantastic time. I learned so much from him as a co-star. I’ll say it again: he’s like an acting school in and of himself.”
Sonnalli, Nawazuddin, and Nupur recently wrapped filming on Noorani Chehre. It is described as a “quirky love story” with a social message about beauty standards, directed by Navaniat Singh.
