Lucknow/Gorakhpur Due to increasing pressure to arrest the son of Federal Minister of State Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni in the Rahimpur Keri violence, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Friday that justice will be served, but No one will be arrested without sufficient evidence.

The Chief Minister described the violence on October 3 as unfortunate, which resulted in 8 deaths, and said that he would not take any action under any pressure. “There is no place for violence in democracy. When the law guarantees the safety of everyone, there is no need to take it in our own hands, no matter who they are,” he told the news channel.

Regarding the allegation that Ashish Mishra, the son of the minister, is working to protect the minister, in this case, Adityanath said: “No one will be treated unfairly. No one will be allowed to control the law, but no action will be taken under any pressure. ” “We will not arrest anyone based on charges. But yes, if someone is guilty, no matter who he is, he will not be spared,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that even “the Supreme Court has said that before arresting someone, we should have sufficient evidence against him.” Teni’s son Ashish Mishra, along with others, was charged with murder and other charges when a vehicle belonging to the federal minister knocked down four farmers during Sunday’s protest against the agricultural law.

Two BJP workers and a driver were allegedly beaten to death by angry protesters, while a local journalist was also killed in the ensuing violence. The farmers insisted that Ashish was driving the lead car that ran over people. The minister and his son denied that the latter was involved in the incident. Earlier on Friday, Ashish failed to appear at the crime branch office in Lakhimpur Kheri at 10 am for questioning, which prompted the police to issue a new subpoena and warn that legal action will be taken if he does not appear again. “We have done this all across the state… As long as we find evidence, we will take action against someone… Whether it is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA or the opposition MLA… We do not hesitate to take action… Rahimpur, the government is doing the same thing,” he said.

“The government has established a special investigation team (SIT) and established a judicial committee to investigate the case…has started arresting those who have been confirmed to participate in the video,” he added. Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party Chairman Akhilesh Yadav said on Twitter on Friday: “By sending subpoenas to the unified government and designated defendants (murder defendants) of the government, the public’s anger against the government has been further increased.” Earlier in the day, Yadav said the minister’s son should be arrested.
