In a recent interview, Brad Pitt, who has delivered numerous critically praised performances over his more than 30 years in Hollywood, stated that he intended to stop acting in motion pictures. The actor claimed he was at the “final leg” of his career and that the Covid-19 lockout had changed his outlook. Brad said he intended to “always make” art, in some capacity, though he did not specify when he plans to retire.

In an interview with GQ, Brad, who is now involved in a legal dispute with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie—he is suing her for selling her interest in the wine company they co-owned together since 2008—discussed his future ambitions. For his portrayal of Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Brad earlier this month earned his first acting Oscar for best supporting actor. As a producer of the best picture winner, 12 Years a Slave, he previously received an Oscar in 2014.

“I think I’m on my final legs… this most recent trimester or semester. What will be covered in this section? How would I like to design that? I belong to the species that communicates through art. All I want to do is create. Brad declared, “If I’m not making, I’m dying in some way.

Brad continued by discussing life after the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown. He mentioned accepting his “low-grade sadness” and being able to have “moments of delight.”

“I believe that finding joy has come later in life… I seemed to be drifting along with the currents from one thing to the next. I believe I struggled with low-grade depression for a number of years, and it wasn’t until I accepted that and tried to embrace both the good and the bad in myself that I was able to experience those happy times, Brad said.

On August 5, Brad will debut his subsequent Bullet Train. On March 2, the first official Bullet Train trailer was published, introducing the key players and the scene.
