The Delhi government on Saturday transformed four private hospitals into specialized centers to treat the Omicron coronavirus variant.
The private hospitals currently providing treatment for the highly infectious variant discovered in South Africa last month are Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Max Hospital in Saket, Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj and Batra Hospital in Tughlakabad.
This is in addition to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) hospital, which has so far been a patient infected with the new type of Covid-19 in the capital of the country. On Friday, when the capital saw the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Delhi registered 10 new cases of the Omicron variant. The largest surge in cases in the past four months, with 85 new infections.
Health Minister Satyendar Jain said: “Delhi has reported 10 new cases of Omicron mutation, bringing the total number of strains here to 20. Of the 20 patients, 10 have been discharged.”
So far, most patients of the new variant have shown mild symptoms and were discharged from the hospital within a few days.
