Outreach in mind, Mamata to meet Sharad Pawar in Mumbai today

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet with senior politician and top leader of the National Party (NCP) Sharad Pawar at his residence in Mumbai on Wednesday.

One day ago, the head of the Trinamool conference had a meeting with Shiv Sena leaders Sanjay Raut and Aadtiya Thackeray and visited the famous Siddhi Vinayak temple. Banerjee, who is on a two-day visit to the country’s financial capital, will also participate in a series of events, including business meetings. She said that she could not see her Maharashtra counterpart Uddhav Thackeray because he was recovering from the recent operation.

The meeting held after the Trinamool Congress tried to extend its wings beyond Bangladesh was regarded by the party’s top leaders as an outreach activity to opposition leaders.

At the same time, relations between Congress and the political party led by Banerjee have become more tense, and several leaders have turned to the ruling Bangladeshi camp in the past few months.
