The lockdown imposed in Delhi for the second time due to Corona infection has led to migration of nearly 8 lakh laborers. This information has been revealed in a survey conducted by the Transport Department of Delhi Government in the last four weeks.

This survey has been done by the Transport Department on people taking bus services from major states of Delhi to other states. There are three major bus stands in Delhi from where buses to other states operate. These include Kashmiri Gate, Anand Vihar, and Sarai Kale Khan Bus Station.

A report prepared by the transport department of the Delhi government said that at least 800,000 migrant workers have left Delhi since April 19 when the lockdown was implemented in Delhi.

An analysis of four weeks of data showed that only a maximum number of people (3,79,604) left home during the first week of lockdown.

The highest load of passengers among the 3 ISBTs was found at Anand Vihar ISBT (689,642 passengers transported to other states) and most of the 800,000 people left for UP.

The rest of the two ISBTs also witnessed a large crowd of people. However, most of the crowds were seen at the Anand Vihar bus station due to UP-Bihar being the maximum number of workers.
