Panchayat elections will be held in 11 phases in Bihar, the first phase of polling on 24 September

The Bihar Election Commission on Tuesday evening issued the notification for the three-tier panchayat elections. With this, where the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the state, no new scheme will be started. However, the old schemes will continue.

Voting for the election will be held in 11 phases. With the release of the notification, candidates will now be able to enroll for six different posts from today. They will get seven days to enroll.

The commission has fixed the time of filing nomination papers, scrutiny, and withdrawal of nominations. The candidates of Mukhiya, Sarpanch, Ward member, Panch, Panchayat Samiti member, and Zilla Parishad member will be able to make nominations from 11 am to 4 pm.

In the first phase, on September 24, elections will be held in 12 blocks of 10 districts. In the second phase, on September 29, in 48 blocks of 32 districts, in the third phase on October 8, in 50 blocks of 35 districts, in the fourth phase on October 20, 53 in 36 districts, and in the fifth phase on October 24, in 58 blocks of 38 districts.

In the sixth phase, on November 3, 57 blocks of 37 districts, in the seventh phase, on November 15, in 63 blocks of 37 districts, and in the eighth phase on November 24, in 55 blocks of 36 districts.
