Parliament’s dignity lowered by Suspended Opposition MP, should apologize: Union Minister

When asked about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary party meeting, the Federal Minister said: “The Federal Minister of Law Kiren Rigiju introduced why the country needs the election law (amendment) bill passed yesterday in the Bharatiya Janata Party. The parliamentary party meeting of the People’s Party was held on Tuesday in the capital Ambedkar International Center.
Since the beginning of the Winter Conference on November 29, Rajya Sabha has been facing a commotion with the removal of the suspension of 12 members of the House of Representatives.
The move angered the opposition parties and laid the foundation for fierce exchanges. After the government proposed a motion, more than a dozen opposition party members of Rajya Sabha were suspended from participating in the winter meeting on the first day of Monday.
During the passage of the General Insurance Business (Nationalization) Amendment Act in 2021, after opposition members stormed the House of Representatives, at the end of the August monsoon meeting, members of parliament were suspended for alleged unruly behavior.
The suspended members include six members from Congress, two each from Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena, and one each from CPI and CPM: Phulo Devi Netam, Chhaya Verma, Ripun Bora, Rajamani Patel, Syed Nasir Hussain and Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Congress ; Dola Sen and Shanta Chhetri of Trinamool Conference; Priyanka Chaturvedi, Anil Desai of Shiv Sena; Elamaram Kareem of CPM; and Binoy Viswam of CPI.
Since their suspension, all 12 members of Congress who have been suspended have sat near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the parliament building. The opposition party has ruthlessly disrupted the proceedings of the House of Representatives every day, except for a few times. (ANI)
