‘Pati, Patni Aur Woh’ has been very popular not only in the movies industry but also in society. BR Chopra, who has been called the King of Romance almost 40 years ago, was on the same topic as husband and wife starring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha, and Ranjita. Mudassar Aziz has adapted the same theme in today’s environment and there is no doubt that he has also been successful in imparting moral knowledge along with entertainment.
Abhinav Tyagi, aka Chintu Tyagi (Karthik Aryan), who grew up in Kanpur, has always been sharp and that is why he also gets a good government post after topping the studies. Vedika (Bhoomi Pednekar) carries Chintu’s Orange Marriage, but he hangs on Babak and Bindas Vedika. Everything goes well for some time after the marriage, but after some time Chintu’s life starts going through routine and boredom. Then comes Tapasya Singh (Ananya Pandey) amid his daily monotony and Chintu’s life changes. Modern and beautiful austerities have come to find their boutique place in Kanpur. Chintu gets attracted to austerity. The closest of both of them is Chintu’s friend Faheem Rizvi (Aparshakti Khurana). He tries to convince Chintu about marriage and worldliness, but before the Chintu wife finds any balance between Vedika and austerity, the situation gets out of you. There is a lot of drama and confusion in the story.
The quality of director Mudassar Aziz’s direction is that the sequence of humor and entertainment that starts from the first scene lasts till Climax. Yes, he did take some time to develop the story, but after that, the funny characters are seen flowing in the story. The dialogue and one-liners of the film are very sharp. Kanpur’s backdrop makes the film interesting in terms of language and accent. Mudassar’s casting is also perfect and she adds strength to the story. Editing could be a bit crispy. The climax is fun. In the music of Tanishq Bagchi, the remix of Ankhi to Goliat is being liked a lot. It is at the ninth position in Radio Mirchi’s list of Top Twenty.
The boys of Kanpur make Chintu Tyagi entertained by Karthik with his light stutter. Karthik has done well with the character who needed smartness with body language and nerves. His dialogs, spoken as monologues like previous films, reflect his specialty. In the character of Vedika, the charm of a diverse actress like Bhumi Pednekar is seen in every way. She is also glamorous as well as domestic. Ananya Pandey has been the surprise package of the film. This is her second film, but her confidence as a newcomer actress is amazing. They have an amazing screen press. As much as Praise Khurana is praised as a friend, Faheem is less. His and Karthik’s jugalbandi is very much frozen. Neeraj Sood as Mausaji in supporting roles has entertained well. The supporting cast is Strong.
