People ‘loot’ fertiliser sacks from truck in MP; video goes viral

Bhopal, October 11 (PTI) A video from the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh surfaced allegedly showing some people, apparently farmers, taking fertilizer bags from trucks, prompting opposition Congress to claim agriculture on Monday The shortage of materials and its black market are in a country ruled by the BJP.

The Saffron Party denies this claim. However, the local government denied that any such incident occurred in the town of Sabalga in the Morena district, which belongs to the parliamentary seat represented by the Union’s Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singhtomar.

In this viral video, you can see several people, obviously farmers, running away with fertilizer bags on their shoulders, followed by the police. Sabalgarh District Sheriff (SDM) L K Pandey said on the phone that some unidentified people came to buy fertilizer and took some sacks, but the police controlled the situation. He said that they ran away, leaving behind the fertilizer bags.

Pandey said that on Monday, 1,600 farmers in the area received the fertilizer. At the same time, Kamal Nath, the chairman of the state assembly, claimed that the state had a “severe shortage” of fertilizers. “Farmers are lining up to fertilize. Even in the parliamentary district of the Federal Minister of Agriculture, the situation is terrible. Fertilizer is being looted,” he said. The former CM said that the government should arrange sufficient quantities of fertilizer for farmers.

On the other hand, the Secretary of the National People’s Party Rajneesh Agrawal stated that there is no shortage of fertilizers. “There is no shortage of (fertilizer) in the state. This type of incident is a conspiracy and the state government will investigate it. Farmers are getting enough fertilizer,” he said. PTI COR ADU RSY RSY
