Pfizer, Moderna refused COVID-19 vaccines, said will deal with Centre only: Kejriwal

Foreign pharma companies Pfizer and Moderna have also refused to provide the vaccine to the Delhi government. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself has informed about this. He said that both companies have refused to sell the vaccine directly to us.

Let me tell you that earlier Modarna gave the same reply to the Punjab government. The company had said that it would give the vaccine directly to the central government.

Let us tell you that America’s Kovid-19 vaccine manufacturer Moderna has refused to send the vaccine directly to the Punjab government, saying that it only deals with the central government. This information was given by a senior state official on Sunday.

Punjab nodal officer for the vaccine Vikas Garg had said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, all vaccine manufacturers were directly contacted for purchase of vaccines including Sputnik V, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

He said that a response has come from Moderna in which the company has refused to enter into an agreement with the state government.

The Punjab government issued a statement saying that as per the policy of Moderna, it deals with the Government of India and not with the state government or any private party.
