Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are affected by issues such as screen flickering and unexpected green tint effects, and some affected users have reported online. These problems were discovered and attracted attention only one day after the Pixel 6 series went on sale in the United States.
Both new Google Pixel phones are equipped with the company’s proprietary Tensor SoC and run on Android 12 out of the box. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro also have camera enhancements supported by artificial intelligence (AI). Multiple users have reported flickering issues when pressing the power button on Pixel 6 Pro on Reddit. Android Police also noticed this problem, and the problem exists in one of the review units.
However, it is not clear whether this problem is also present in regular Pixel 6 models, as most user complaints are related to Pixel 6 Pro. One of the affected users created a short video to reproduce the problem. Some users believe that the flicker may be due to the static charge released by the phone when the power button is pressed.
In addition to the flicker problem, some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users also encountered a green hue effect that suddenly appeared on the display. Another user on Twitter reported that due to some errors, he noticed two punch-hole designs on the Pixel 6 Pro. The user posted a video on the social media platform showing the secondary punch cut, which may be caused by some dead pixels on the display.
Through all the reported complaints, it is not clear whether the problem is caused by a software error or some hardware problem. Gadgets 360 has contacted Google to comment on this matter and will update this space when the company responds. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were launched last week.
Both new phones are equipped with custom-designed Tensor SoC. These phones also use a new design that has been certified for IP68 dust and water resistance.
