According to reports, Google will introduce the next-generation Google Assistant for Wear OS in the upcoming Pixel Watch. The company has not officially announced this smart watch, but according to reports, a string of codes on the Google app indicates that it is preparing to launch the first Pixel brand smart watch. It is said that Google has left tags in the code of some of its applications, which point to the exclusive features of Pixel devices. According to the report, in the most recent update, it has the “PIXEL_EXPERIENCE_WATCH” label in the Google app, which implies a first-party smartwatch with the Pixel brand.

9to5Google’s report pointed out that Pixel Watch is expected to introduce features that other Wear OS watches may not initially have. One of the highly anticipated features is the next-generation Google Assistant. This version is programmed to improve speech recognition capabilities by processing on the device itself instead of using Google’s servers. This feature debuted in Pixel 4, allowing users to perform advanced tasks via voice, such as filtering the gallery on Google Photos. Next-generation assistants can also adjust phone settings when the device is offline. It is worth noting that the voice recognition function on Wear OS is relatively slow. Pixel Watch is expected to be supported by smart watch chipsets in order to run the next generation of Google Assistant smoothly. According to the report, some hints are scattered in Wear OS related codes, suggesting that Pixel Watch may be equipped with Samsung Exynos chipset. Samsung previously cooperated with Google to bring the Galaxy Watch 4 equipped with Exynos W920 SoC to the market. It is not clear whether the Pixel Watch will get the same chipset.
