New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday welcomed scientists and science enthusiasts to mark National Science Day and called for a renewed commitment to harnessing the power of science for human progress.
The day commemorates the Nobel Prize awarded to Indian physicist C V Raman for his discovery of the “Raman effect”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “Greetings to all scientists and science enthusiasts for National Science Day. Let us reaffirm our commitment to fulfilling our shared responsibility for science and harnessing the power of science for human progress.” Prime Minister Zhou Day also shared a clip from his Mann ki Baat project, in which he spoke about National Science Day.
He has urged families to work hard to cultivate a scientific temperament in their children.
