NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the founder of the Maratha empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji, on Saturday, saying his outstanding leadership and emphasis on social welfare have inspired generations.
He also said his government is determined to realize Shivaji’s vision.
Born in 1630, Shivaji was known for his bravery, military genius and leadership.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “My tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His outstanding leadership and emphasis on social welfare have inspired generations. In defending the truth And values such as justice, he made no compromises in realizing his vision.”
