The ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program has given oxygen to the radio which is dying amidst new modes of communication. This program has proved to be a boon for radio. ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is the monthly radio program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This has not only helped in increasing the popularity of radio but has also proved to be a good deal of profit. The program has generated a revenue of Rs 30.80 crore since its inception in 2014.
The highest-earning was Rs 10.64 crore in 2017-18. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
The program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is telecast on different channels of All India Radio and Doordarshan on the last Sunday of the month at 11 AM.
Thakur said, “Prasar Bharati has telecast 78 episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program till date on its All India Radio and Doordarshan network and also on social media platforms. The program is being telecast in different languages and then in dialects as well.”
