An official stated that the website of the UP Higher Education Service Commission was hacked on Tuesday. The hacker replaced the last name of some famous poets with “Allahabadi” with “Prayers” and was “obviously dissatisfied” with the name change of this historic city.
However, the chairman of the committee, Ishwar Charan Vishvaarma, told the news agency PTI that the committee in Prayagraj was able to restore its Hindi website and is in the process of restoring its English portal.
Dr. Vishvakarma said that a complaint about the incident has been filed with the network team of the city police to arrest the perpetrators.
Dr. Vishvakarma said: “This is obviously a masterpiece of some criminals who have expressed obvious dissatisfaction with the change of Allahabad’s name,” and painstakingly explained that the committee has no role in sabotaging the website.
The chairman of the committee said that famous poets and writers whose last name “Allahabadi” was replaced by “Prayagraj” include Akbar Allahabadi, Tej Allahabadi and Rasheed Allahabadi, adding that these names have been corrected on the Hindi website and are currently being corrected in the committee. The names of famous poets and writers appeared in a section of the Allahabad city portal, whose name was recently renamed Prayagraj. Literati whose names appear on the committee’s website include Syed Akbar Hussain alias Akbar Allahabadi, Noor Narbee, Teg Allahabadi, Shabnam Naqvi, and Rasheed Allahabadi.
In response to this incident, Prayagraj reporter Dhananjay Chopra was also a famous writer. He said that Allahabad was recorded in the annals of history.
“Writers and poets like Akbar Allahabadi and Rasheed Allahabadi lived in this city and experienced its life and times, which is why they added Allahabadi after their name. Changing the name of Allahabad to Prayagraj is similar to changing history ,” he asserted.
