Priyanka Chopra is one of four Indians on the BBC’s list of the 100 most powerful women.

Priyanka Chopra is one of four Indians on the BBC’s list of the 100 most powerful women. The list, which was released on Tuesday, includes business leaders, politicians, celebrities and activists from across the world.

Chopra, who is best known for her work as an actor and singer, is the only Indian entertainer on the list. She is joined by three other Indian women: Indira Jaising, the country’s first woman Additional Solicitor General; Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, chairperson and managing director of Biocon; and Leena Nair, human resources director of Unilever.

The BBC said that the list was compiled using criteria including economic impact, political influence, cultural influence and social impact.

“Priyanka Chopra has had a phenomenal year,” the BBC said of the 34-year-old actor. “She is one of Bollywood’s biggest stars and has also made a successful crossover into Hollywood.”
