Priyanka Chopra wished her late grandmother a happy birthday with a touching photo of her grandmother. Madhu Jyotsna Akhouri, Priyanka’s maternal grandmother, died in June 2016. The actress, who frequently shares photos and stories about her grandmother, revealed yet another aspect of their relationship.
On Saturday, May 8, Priyanka took to Instagram Stories to share a photo of her grandmother reading a newspaper that contained an article about the actor. It was captioned by Priyanka Chopra: “Nani, I wish you a very happy birthday. I’ll always miss you, “a red heart emoji was added
Priyanka had previously stated that she believes she will always be with her grandmother when she died. In a statement, the actor said, “Mrs Madhu Jyotsna Akhouri, our beloved mother and grandmother, freedom fighter, social activist, and MLA, among other things, passed away with great sadness. She was a wonderful woman who lived a full life, full of meaning and love… Those we love never leave our side; they walk alongside us every day.”
Priyanka Chopra recently shared childhood photos with her grandmother and mother, Madhu Chopra, and talked about how her ‘nani’ had assisted her mother in her upbringing. Priyanka was seen feeding her grandmother in one of the photos. She wrote in the caption, “My Nani’s (maternal grandmother’s) birthday was celebrated by all six of us. She assisted in my upbringing while my mother and father juggled their studies and medical careers. She had been a constant in my life since I was a child. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had so many strong maternal figures in my life.”
Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas welcomed a daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, earlier this year. Her most recent appearance was in The Matrix Resurrections.
