Bhagwant Mann, the face of the Punjab chief minister of the Aam Aadmi party, launched a scathing attack on Congress, saying the GOP had appointed two corrupt chief ministers within five years.

“Congress gave two corrupt CMs in 5 years. Captain Amarinder Singh’s door was not open to the people, then Charanjit Singh Channi,” ANI quoted Mann as saying.

Claiming that AAP had won in the parliamentary polls, he said the people of Rambi have made up their minds to change Punjab.

Additionally, AAP MPs slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks that “the country needs a man who understands poverty and hunger,” while announcing Channi as the CM face, saying: “That poor man’s wealth is 17 crore. Maybe he was poor for Rahul Gandhi.”

“Have they been to the house of the SC Fraternity represented by the poor (Channi)?” he asked.
Mann praised the choice the AAP offers the people of Punjab, saying: “We gave people those who the Dalit community will vote for. Dalits will vote at face value, but the face will be their children, their Elders, because they will worry about education, health. They will see the faces of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh.”

Punjab will go to the polls on February 14 and the vote count will take place on March 10.

In the state’s 2017 parliamentary polls, Congress won an outright majority of 77 seats and overthrew the Akalidar-BJP government that has been in power for a decade.
