From May 13 to 15, Rahul Gandhi and some 40 other Congress leaders will travel by rail from Delhi to Udaipur, Rajasthan, for their party’s three-day chintan shivir (brainstorming session).

The train voyage was organised as part of an initiative to bring people together. Congress has chastised the government over inflation, particularly the rise in prices of gasoline and vital products, which disproportionately affect the poor.

The Congress leaders have reserved two train carriages to travel to the meeting, where they will debate a new road map for the party’s revival ahead of the 2024 national election. Other topics that will be discussed include the country’s economic position and relations with its neighbours.

The session will also address the party’s organisational, electoral, and political difficulties, as the party has seen defections and electoral losses as its political space has shrunk.
