The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe cold weather in several states over the next two to three days. According to the MeT department, over the next two days, parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Eastern Madhya Pradesh and Western Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience severe to freezing weather.
Forecasts point to a severe cold snap in Rajasthan on January 27-28, while the next four days will be prevalent in remote areas of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh. The remote areas of Saurashtra and Kutch are also expected to make a comeback in cold to severe cold snap conditions over the next 24 hours.
The Meteorological Department has forecast night and morning fog to thick fog in remote parts of Punjab and Northwestern Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours. Heavy fog likely in remote areas in West Bengal and Sikkim on 26 January; overflying Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Northeastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura over the 24 hours and in Odisha during the next two days
