Actor Rishi Kapoor died in April 2020, two years after being diagnosed with cancer. Neetu Kapoor, his wife, spoke about how much their son Ranbir Kapoor misses his father in a new interview. Ranbir married Alia Bhatt, an actress, in Mumbai last month.
Rishi was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2018 and went to New York for treatment. After a long battle with the illness he died in April 2020, at the age of 67.
Neetu is returning to the small screen as a judge on Dance Deewane Juniors, a children’s dance reality show. For the first time in nearly a decade, she will also be seen on screen soon. She is in the film Jug Jugg Jeeyo, alongside Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, and Anil Kapoor. Neetu’s most recent appearance was in the 2013 film Besharam, in which she co-starred alongside Rishi and Ranbir.
Ranbir is currently preparing for the release of Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, the first instalment in a planned fantasy trilogy. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Dimple Kapadia, and is his first on-screen collaboration with Alia Bhatt.
Brahmastra marks Ranbir’s third collaboration with Ayan, following Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. After several delays in production, the film will be released in theatres on September 9, 2022. Apart from Brahmastra, Ranbir has Shamshera by Karan Malhotra, Animal by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, and Luv Ranjan’s next on the way.
