Rashmika Mandanna, who is making her Hindi feature debut with Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye, recently discussed how she had to build a distinction between her personal and professional lives because her parents had very different views on the movie business. The Pushpa actor recalled how Rashmika’s parents had to “learn the hard way” that they had no influence over how her career was developing.
Rashmika said in a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, “There was a time when my mom thought that industry was something we had control over. She had to learn the hard way that this was incorrect because the industry allows us to do everything we want.
After a few attempts at juggling everything, Rashmika revealed that she had come to the conclusion that her parents shouldn’t interfere with her professional matters because they don’t work in the film industry. We now know that you are not a member of the industry, so avoid getting too involved because you can’t handle it. You are from Coorg, where people don’t tend to think very broadly. Don’t let this go; you guys live your lives and this is your life. You lead a pleasant, comfortable life. Because I’m an artist, please let me do what I do. My life and my path are this, she declared.
Rashmika claimed that it took some effort on her part to persuade her parents that they had no control over her life. The world is not how you think it is, therefore don’t try to run my life; let me make my own decisions. It’s more bigger and tougher. I had to teach that lesson because I am a daughter and an artist. The Sita Ramam actor claimed that because her family has mostly led a sheltered life and lives in a small Coorg hamlet, they weren’t ready for the harsh realities of show business. It was an adventure and a lesson for all of us, she said.
