Russian space agency shared a video of workers covering the flags of Japan, the US and UK on a Soyuz rocket at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. However, the Indian flag remained untouched. Russia faces severe global backlash over its attack on Ukraine, while India has refrained from criticising Moscow for it actions.
The Indian government has, instead, repeatedly called for both sides (Russia and Ukraine) to work out a peaceful agreement.
The Soyuz rocket carrying 36 OneWeb satellites was to launch from Russia’s Baikonur cosmodrome on Friday, but Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin tweeted that the launch has been postponed. He said the decision was taken to remove flags of some countries from the rocket so it would look more “beautiful”.
