Sumy is among the cities where Russian military will hold fire and open humanitarian corridors on Monday. The other towns include capital Kyiv, Kharkiv and Mariupol. PM Modi and President Putin have discussed the evolving situation in Ukraine over the phone. During the conversation, Putin briefed Modi on the status of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian President Petro Zelenskyy declared forgiveness Sunday, but said there will be a “Day of Judgment” for those who committed atrocities against his country. This came after rescue efforts of civilians came under direct attack by Russian forces with at least three people getting killed in shelling outside Kyiv. Zelenskys warned that the “only quiet place” that awaits those who commit atrocities is the grave.
