Sai Pallavi states that she hopes to play in films like Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani.

According to Sai Pallavi, she was happy with her performance as Maithreyi in the historical drama Telugu movie Shyam Singha Roy.
Sai Pallavi has said she wants to play iconic roles in historical dramas. The actor claims she yearned for a part similar to that in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat and felt “a bit gratified” when she was cast as Rosie/Maithreyi in the Telugu historical drama Shyam Singha Roy.
The film Shyam Singha Roy, which was directed by Rahul Sankrityan, was about reincarnation and was set in the 1970s in Kolkata. Sai Pallavi played Maithreyi, a devadasi from Bangladesh who performs dances in a temple during Navaratri.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, Sai stated the following in regards to the same: “I imagine myself occasionally, you see a few films, and you’ll think, “Oh, I hope I’d get a role,” at that point. I’ve seen Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, so occasionally you might believe that. When I played someone from a different time for Shyam Singha Roy, I guess a small part of me felt a bit gratified. If I can play a full-time role for a while, that would be fantastic.
On July 15, Sai’s most recent film, Gargi, was made available. Ritchie-famous writer and director Gautham Ramachandran is behind the camera. It is marketed as a compelling drama about a lady seeking justice. She had made the release public.

The performer has made headlines for her comments regarding the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. She also shared a video in which she clarified her remarks, which elicited a range of responses on social media.
