The Shiv Sena leader has alleged that a jailed MP Navneet Rana received a loan of ₹80 lakh from financier Yusuf Lakdawala. He had connection with fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s ‘D gang’, Raut claimed. The businessman died in jail in September 2021.

BJP leader Mohit Kamboj shared purported photos of Lakdawala with former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, among others.
“We do not have the authority to determine whether any allegations are true,” state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil said.
