Satellite imagery showed more than 100 new military vehicles and dozens of troop tents being deployed along Belarus’s southern border with Ukraine, a private U.S. company said on Tuesday.
Images released by Maxar Technologies, which have been tracking the buildup of Russian troops for weeks, have not been independently verified by Reuters.
The images also show the addition of a new field hospital to a military fort in western Russia near the Ukrainian border, Maxa said in a statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian troops into eastern Ukraine after Moscow recognized the independence of the separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, saying peace should remain.
U.S. President Joe Biden responded on Tuesday by imposing sanctions and calling Moscow’s military action “the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”
Heavy transport vehicles used to move tanks, artillery and other heavy equipment, along with some new troop deployments, have been spotted near the Ukrainian border in western Russia, Maxar said.
