Sawa Pontyjska, a model from Ukraine, stated that she filed a lawsuit against the Cannes Film Festival organisers. Sawa said on the red carpet of the event that she was beaten by a security guard, according to a BBC News report. Social media users shared a video of Sawa physically battling the security guy. It was the same individual who the public chastised for managing Kelly Rowland, the singer, and Massiel Taveras and Yoona on the red carpet.
Sawa claims she was ejected from the event.
According to the report, Sawa said that despite having a valid ticket, she was “brutally” detained as she attempted to enter the movie theatre. It was for the debut of Marcello Mio. “My goal was to get out of this lock. Since the stairs were the route back [out], I descended and began to flee. In an attempt to hide her actions from view, she was pushing me in. Then she threw me out the back door,” the woman recalled.
Sawa claims she experienced “violent challenges.”
Sawa clarified that she wasn’t doing improperly. She added that she attempted to get in touch with the organisers to ask for an apology. She did not, however, hear back. According to her court complaint, which BBC News quoted, she was “violently challenged by one of a group of security guards” in front of “thousands of people”. According to the report, she experienced “acute pain” from the physical impact and “psychological trauma”.

The report claims that Sawa uploaded images of documents on Wednesday, charging the festival with “physical assault and psychological damage”. She claimed that her reputation had been damaged and requested damages in the amount of 100,000 euros (£85, 000).

Sawa had previously shared a video of the May 21 incident on Instagram. Sawa was seen at the top of the stairs, seemingly being asked to enter by the female security officer. Then she encircled Sawa with both of her arms. For a moment, Sawa nearly fell to the ground as they wrestled. When she attempted to retrace her steps, additional security guards intervened to stop her. And they led her inside.
