On the first day of the 21-day nationwide lockdown in India, the Sensex and Nifty saw the biggest one-day rally in 11 years on Wednesday. The Sensex climbed 6.98% (1861.75 points) to 28,535.78 on Wednesday, while the Nifty climbed 6.62% (516.80 points) to 8,317.85. Among the 30 Sensex companies, Reliance Industries and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top gainers.
