Shah Rukh Khan’s presence in Brahmastra had many suspicious, but Ayan Mukerji has now verified their suspicions. Many fans believed Shah Rukh’s portrayal of Mohan Bhargav, a scientist who wielded Vanarastra, in the movie had something to do with his 2004 film Swades. In Swades, Shah Rukh played a scientist by the name of Mohan Bhargav.
The role of Shah Rukh, Mohan Bhargav, was named as an intended homage to Swades, according to director Ayan Mukerji, who recently verified this. He added that, in addition to Shah Rukh, there was another motivation for him to honour the cult classic movie made by Ashutosh Gowariker.
In Swades, he (Shah Rukh) plays a NASA scientist named Mohan Bhargava who decides to return and work in India, according to Ayan Mukerji, who spoke to PTI. Since I had assisted on Swades, I figured it would be nice to mention it here.
At the age of 19, Ayan Mukerji began his career with Swades as an assistant director. Later, he worked as an assistant director on Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006). Ayan thanked Shah Rukh for doing the guest role in Brahmastra, which has been one of the movie’s highlights.
He stated: “In our credits, we stated that we were “eternally grateful to Mr. Shah Rukh Khan.” Sometimes somebody will show up and do something incredibly kind and selfless. It is impossible to ever repay Shah Rukh Khan for his work on Brahmastra. Everyone agrees that Shah Rukh sir’s sequence in Brahmastra is one among their favourites.”
On September 9, the movie Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, was released in theatres. Ayan has hinted that a spin-off for Shah Rukh’s on-screen persona may also be in the works.
