Before closing in the green, domestic headlines saw a trading session oscillating between gains and losses. The S&P BSE Sensex added 85.88 points, or 0.14%, to 61,308, while the NSE Nifty 50 added 52.35 points, or 0.29%, to 16,308. Bank Nifty closed down 0.40% at 38,216. The broader market rose, with India’s VIX up 1.27%. Ultratech Cement was Sensex’s biggest gainer, rising 2.75% after the company reported quarterly results. Other winners include Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Steel. HCL Tech was the worst performer, down 5.76%, followed by HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Tech Mahindra.
