Director Shoojit Sircar’s films are well-loved by audiences-from Vicky Donor (2012) and Madras Café (2013) to October (2018). The filmmaker revealed that people naturally want him to make a sequel for them.
However, despite the large amount of funding provided by the manufacturer, he does not have such a plan. “You need to have a strong story to do this. I think more or less, we have tried to invest everything in the first movie, so I don’t know what’s left in the second movie. I am also very I am getting bored with the same idea, so I need to move on. This is also the problem. I got a lot of money to make more or less sequels for all of my films-Piku (2015), and even Madras Café. People ask me for the next part of Pink (2016). I haven’t found any story that I can continue to make a sequel,” said the director. His last work was Sardar Udham (2021), by Vicki. Starring Kaushal. Although actors and filmmakers mostly have multiple projects at a certain point in different stages of production, this is not the case with Sircar. Admitting that he has no next project, he said, “I am not a factory, I will continue to produce movies. I am studying, gardening, playing football, and there are a lot of thinking and discussions. Let’s see how it turns out.”
What would happen if a good idea didn’t show up to him for several years? Is he willing to wait so long just for a good subject? Sircar gave an affirmative answer.
“In the final analysis, it is an expression, an art. It comes from pure passion, so it is not the only livelihood I rely on. Yes, I rely on it, but I won’t do it because I have to make a movie and make sure it It’s running. This is purely what drives me. I will only move when it triggers me, otherwise I won’t,” he concluded.
