Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala joined the parliament before the legislative assembly election on Friday. Moose Wala is a popular face in Punjab. He has always bluntly supported the agitation of farmers. After he joined, the Chief Minister said that Sidhu Moose Wala was an “international icon”. “I believe he will make the Congress Party proud, and I welcome him on behalf of Congress,” Chaney said, according to the news agency ANI.
“Moose Wala won everyone’s hearts. He is the son of a farmer and his father is a former military officer,” Channi said. “I believe he will become a youth idol,” he added.
It is unclear whether Mos Wala, whose real name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, will participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for next year. Channi said the same thing has yet to be decided.
Currently, he will meet with the top party leaders, Channi said. After joining the parliament, Moose Wala said that one of the reasons for joining the parliament was to raise the voice of the Punjabi. “This is my first press conference. Three years ago, I started singing. Four years later, I took another step. Mansa is not that developed. Part of this area has nurtured me. I will Raise my voice from here,” he said.
The singer comes from a small village called Moussa in Mansa District, Punjab. His mother is the village head. He was criticized by some for promoting violence and gun culture in his songs.
