The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi was at the forefront of the state elections, overtaking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to return to power in the national capital.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was leading in 62 seats out of 70 of the AAP assembly and BJP in 8 started at 8 am on the Election Commission website after the counting of votes. The Congress party, which ruled Delhi for 15 years before voting in 2013, attracted a vacancy.
