Actors frequently try to imbibe the attributes and skillset that the role requires in order to get into character. It takes a lot of preparation, from practising martial arts to learning a unique dance form. However, there are some learned skills that you can keep. And that’s exactly what occurred to actor Kranti Prakash Jha in a 2018 series in which he played yoga teacher Swami Ramdev. Since then, the actor has incorporated yoga into his films MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) and Batla House (2019).
“I’ve picked up a number of talents from the roles I’ve played over the years, including horseback riding, sword fighting, and gymnastics, but yoga is one that has stuck with me.” When I was cast as Swami Ramdev in a biopic four years ago, I began practising yoga. The producers wanted me to do some basic yoga before the filming, so I was dispatched to meet swami ji. I picked up a few pointers from him. On World Yoga Day, he tells us, “I started doing yoga then and continue to practise it every single day,” adding, “Yoga has served the function of an anchor in my life.” I’ve been a fitness fanatic since I was a kid, and yoga has really helped me stay in shape.”
“Yoga is all about patience, balance, and mental control,” the Raktanchal actor believes. It won’t offer you results in a matter of days, but it will undoubtedly prepare your mind for larger life goals.” Every day at 7 a.m., he begins his yoga regimen. “I aim to hold each stretch for at least a minute and concentrate on my breathing while doing so.” Mayurasana, Shirshasana, Sarvangasana, Bakasana, and Bhujangasana are among Jha’s favourite asanas, as are Mayurasana, Shirshasana, Sarvangasana, Bakasana, and Bhujangasana.
