Spotify has launched a series of updates worldwide, some of which are also available in India. The Swedish audio streaming service provider now makes it easier to block other users. In addition, it has enabled autoplay by default on Spotify Connect devices, but some users are dissatisfied with it. The third main function is the Spotify chart, which provides city music recommendations. This function can be used in 16 cities in India.

As discovered by The Verge, Spotify users can now easily block users by visiting their Spotify profile, clicking on the three-dot menu above their public playlist, and then clicking Block (or block users on mobile devices). People who are blocked will not be able to access your events or any of your public playlists. Previously, users had to contact customer support to block other users. The user can also unlock in the same way. This feature has not yet begun to roll out in India.

Spotify has updated its autoplay feature, which is enabled by default when users play music on Spotify Connect devices (such as connected speakers). After the user raised the issue on the Spotify community forum and thought it was a mistake, the Spotify community moderator confirmed that this was indeed a feature. “This means that whenever you play music from Spotify on a device other than your phone or PC/Mac (installable application, not our web player), autoplay will be enabled and a track will be added to continue Play. This will happen regardless of the current active autoplay setting. This setting only affects playback directly on your phone or PC/Mac (application), and is not universally applicable,” the host said.

The third function is the update in the chart. Spotify will now provide city charts in more than 200 cities, including 16 cities in India. The purpose is to allow users to see any artists or songs popular in their area. The rankings for all 16 cities will vary based on the number of listeners in the region. “Every Friday, Spotify will update Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal based on the activities of listeners in the following regions , Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Patna and Pune. That city,” the company said in a communication sent. Spotify also launched the “Local Pulse” ranking, which compares the most unique pop songs in each city each week with their global popularity.
