Haryana Government will give 50- 50 lakh rupees to the 9 players of the state involved in the Indian women’s hockey team, which created history by reaching the semi-finals in the Tokyo Olympics.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, “The Haryana government will give a cash prize of Rs 50.50 lakh to nine players of the state who are included in the Olympic women’s hockey team.”
He congratulated the team for the best performance ever by finishing fourth in the Olympics. The Indian team lost to Britain by 3.4 in the bronze medal match.
Haryana CM Khattar said, “The UK team has won by a very small margin. India’s team performed very well. I announce a reward of Rs 50 lakh to all the 9 players of Haryana in the hockey team.
In Haryana and Punjab, the families of the players sat in front of the TV in anticipation of India’s victory.
Rani’s father Rampal in Kurukshetra’s Shahbad said the team played well but unfortunately could not win the first medal. He said that the performance of the team will have a positive impact on the game and on the youth.
