Zoya Akhtar has unveiled the first official trailer for her upcoming film Archies. The show will star Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, and will be an Indian adaptation of the characters and stories from Archie’s Comics.
On Saturday morning, Zoya shared a show poster and a small first look teaser on Instagram. The ensemble cast poses in a wooded area in 1960s attire on the poster. Next year, the film will be released on Netflix. The teaser video features the cast acting silly and having a good time on set while a catchy song plays in the background. It depicts Archie and his gang’s bonds and friendship as they play around on what appears to be a picnic in a park near the woods.
“Ain’t nothing like old school,” Zoya wrote on social media in response to the teaser. Get your friends together, because the Archies are coming to @netflix in soon!” Agastya plays Archie, with Khushi portraying Betty and Suhana portraying Veronica in the film. Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda are among the cast members. “The film has the iconic gang of The Archies’ at its centre, and perfectly matches the youthful energy, hope, and excitement of the sixties era,” the producers said in a statement. The seven actors portray Ar characters.
Due to the debut of the three star kids, the film is highly anticipated. Pictures of the actors from the set of the movie surfaced online earlier this year. The teaser finally gives fans a closer look, and they are already anticipating the release. Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya’s sister, left a heart in the teaser’s comment section. “Finally!” exclaimed a number of other fans. “Omg looks great,” said one commenter.
In November of last year, Zoya made the announcement about her film. “Get your milkshakes ready, because Archie and the gang in ‘The Archies’ are about to get down and desi. @zoieakhtar directs a coming-of-age musical drama.
