Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, OP Soni sworn in as Punjab Deputy CMs

Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni were sworn in as the Deputy Chief Ministers of Punjab at the Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh on Monday, after Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as the next chief minister of Punjab.

Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the Jails and Cooperations Minister in the outgoing cabinet, was pegged as a frontrunner for the Punjab chief minister’s post. He also served as vice president of Punjab Congress in the past.

Randhawa represents the Dera Baba Nanak assembly constituency. His father, Santokh Singh, was also a Congressman who went on to become the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president twice.
