A 14-year-old Rohingya girl is facing deportation from India to Myanmar. The girl is at an orphanage in Assam while her parents are in a camp in Bangladesh. A Bench led by Justice S. Abdul Nazeer issued notice to the government and asked the NGO to implead the State of Assam.

The petition said that everybody, including non-citizens, have the right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution.  Her father wanted to know the whereabouts of his daughter and when he would be reunited with her.

The petitioners have urged the court to not to send the girl to Myanmar, where atrocities are reported to have been committed against Rohingya Muslims.
