It’s been five months since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, but the National Resistance Forces (NRF) are still fighting them, working to oust the extremists. The NRF released a video message, which has appeared on social media, in which they urged the people of Afghanistan not to remain silent.
In another audio message, NRF leader Ahmad Massoud clarified that their struggle was not for a particular race or geography, but for the complete independence of Afghanistan.
Some photos circulating on social media show that NRF fighter jets now have anti-tank missiles (ATGMs) to destroy Taliban vehicles.
The missiles are guided by an advanced targeting system that tracks the target until impact, the report said.
Meanwhile, a Taliban spokesman has dismissed allegations against female activist Tamana Pariani, who said Taliban fighters entered her home in Kabul and arrested her. Spokesman Suhail Shaheen told the BBC that activists made the videos to seek asylum abroad. “There has been no such incident,” he said.
On Thursday, a witness claimed that 10 armed men claiming to be from Taliban intelligence stormed Paryani’s apartment on Wednesday night, smashing the door and arresting the activist and three of her sisters. She was one of about 25 women who took part in an anti-Taliban protest on Sunday against the mandatory wearing of the Islamic hijab or hijab by women.
