Telangana government offices, educational institutes shut today

The decision was made two days after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao assessed the situation on Monday and instructed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take all necessary precautions. “Due to the “Gulab” cyclone leading to continued rainfall in Telangana and the upcoming heavy rain forecast, the government hereby announces that all government offices, private institutions, schools and all educational institutions will be closed on September 28, 2021,” Kumar The issued command is read. Although Cyclone Gulab weakened after the landing process was completed, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued flash flood risk (FFR) warnings for several areas in Telangana. According to the Meteorological Department, Badradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Adilabad, Bhuvanagiri, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Warangal, Peddapalley Karimnagar, Rajanna Siricilla, Jayashankar Bhupalle, Mulugu, Jagitial, Mahbubabad and Janagoan can witness flash floods.
