Telecom equipment company Huawei has secured an order of around Rs 1.5 crore to maintain Bharti Airtel’s transmission network, a source said on Monday.
The order is part of an existing deal between Huawei and Airtel and complies with the National Telecommunications Security Directive, which allows continuation of old contracts.
“The order given to Huawei as part of the annual maintenance contract is less than Rs 1.5 crore,” the source said.
Email enquiries sent to Bharti Airtel and Huawei on the matter did not elicit any response.
