The Jammu and Kashmir police announced early on Wednesday that a terrorist had been killed in an encounter in the Pulwama area. The terrorist has now been identified as Feroz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Heff-Shrimal in Shopian.
The police described him as an A+ terrorist of the banned terrorist organization Hezbollah Mujahideen. The police said in a statement: “He was involved in several terrorist crimes, including an attack on a minority guard in Zainapora Shopian in 2018, in which 4 policemen were killed.”
The statement further said: “Allegation materials, weapons and ammunition, including an AK series rifle and three magazines recovered from him.”
The Jammu and Kashmir police added in a statement that the case has been opened in accordance with relevant legal provisions and an investigation has been initiated.
The encounter at Pulwama started after midnight and lasted until Wednesday morning.
