The Commission Bill-2021 for Air Quality Management in NCR and adjoining areas was approved in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Union Environment and Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that farmers who burn stubble will be kept out of criminal acts, which means no case will be registered against them for burning stubble.

According to Yadav, the report of the commission will be presented in Parliament every year.

The farmers agitating against the government had also objected to this provision, which has been removed by the government itself.
